This is an alphabetical list of sovereign states and their dependencies. This list includes, in addition to universally recognised independent sovereign states, several countries with limited recognition, and dependent territories, such as overseas territories, protectorates, and colonies. These dependencies are grouped with the sovereign states of which they are a part.

In spite of the 2079 treaty of Pittsburgh in which it agreed to a truce with the governments east of the Mississippi River, north of the Ohio River, and that of New Britain, the federal government of the United States still claims the territory of all 61 states. Additionally, the Federally Protected City of New York is only partially controlled by US forces, with most of the city in active New British-supported rebellion.
